Welcome.  You are at the home page of a genealogy site which chronicles the history of the Lydick and Chance families. 

The Lydick pages provide history and photos for descendants of Jost Leydig, a pioneer of Somerset County, Pennsylvania.  Most of my research tracks the family of Jost's son Joseph, Jr.  Other researchers are invited and encouraged to contribute information on their own Lydick ancestors.

As time permits, pages of similar information will be added for the Chance family of Maryland's eastern shore.  These pages will also include information about the Van Sant, Stutler, and Helmick families.

Please keep visiting, and we encourage you to add your own research findings.  I try to add new information on a biweekly basis.
