What you see above is my best guess from viewing the recorded deed. Note that whoever signed Hannah's name used the old German custom of adding "in" to the surname denoting a female (but it was not done to any of the other female's names).

ARTICLE OF SALE: LAND SOLD BY JOSEPH LEIDIG TO ADAM SHIREY (SHIRER) ON JUNE 16, 1814 (article recorded August 26, 1822 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania Deed Book #10, page 287)
This transaction concerned Joseph Leidig, Jr. and it dealt with 172 acres of land he had purchased from his brother William. The property is described to have grain fields and pasture land with 20 head of cattle, "fruit" being grown, and a house on the property containing a stove.
Joseph signed his name to the document. This signature matches the one on the 1804 and 1809 deeds transcribed above, suggesting that, if it isn't his own signature in the deed book, it is at least a careful copy of the original; he signed it using the old German script style of handwriting (suggests his schooling came from a teacher who wrote in German script. Joseph's father Jost could not write).
There are numerous spelling and grammatical errors in the document; none have been changed in this transcription.

LAND PURCHASED BY HEIRS OF JOSEPH LEIDIG ON APRIL 14, 1828 (deed recorded August 25, 1829 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania Deed Book "P").
Two tracts of land totaling 100 acres were purchased for $300.00.
The question is, why did Joseph Leydig's children buy these tracts of land? Joseph Leidig, Jr. died in late 1819, or early 1820. His heirs named in this indenture include all of his children, but not his widow Hannah. This is curious, because Hannah was living when this land was purchased (she lived until 1849).
"This indenture made the fourteenth day of April in the year of Our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty eight, between Henry Hains of the County of Coshocton in the State of Ohio of the one part, and John Gaumer and Susannah his wife, late Susannah Leidig, Elias Leidig, William Leidig, Samuel Leidig, Jonathan Leidig, George Hains and Rachel his wife, late Rachel Leidig, Catharine Leidig, Thomas Dunlap and Hannah his wife, late Hannah Leidig (ed. note: this is Joseph's daughter Hannah, not his wife Hannah), Drusannah Leidig, George Leidig and Elizabeth Leidig, heirs and legal representatives of Joseph Leidig late of the township of Londonderry, County of Bedford and State of Pennsylvania (deceased) of the other part. Together with all and singular the buildings improvements, rights, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever therein or belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the reversions, remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof. And also all the estate, right, title, interest, property, claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Henry Hains in law, equity or otherwise, howsoever of in and out of the same. To have and to hold, the said two several tracts of land above described, hereditaments and premises hereby granted, mentioned or intended so to be, with the appurtenances unto the said grantees and parties of the second part, their heirs and assigns. To the only higher use, benefit and behoof of the said grantees and parties of the said second part their heirs and assigns forever. Another indenture for the same property previously described, being 147 acres of land known as "Shaftsbury" in Londonderry Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. The previous document handled the portion of the sale from one of a group of sellers, and this indenture covers the rest of the sellers, with the purchase price for this portion of the land sale being $2,500.00. Note that one of the sellers is George Hains; he was married to Rachel, a daughter of Joseph Lidig daughters (one of the "heirs of Joseph Lidig" buying this land).
